Reign of the 21st Century

January 15, 2010

It cannot be any clearer how the social media and advanced technology has adapted to everyone’s everyday lives. I find it really interesting how quickly they have evolved. Plus, it’s not just the newer generation that’s using social media; the older generation, such as parents and grandparents, are starting to use it too. All of the statements in that video are absolutely true. As time moves on, we are only making more and more technological advancements at a very fast rate. This decade made so many technological advancements compared to the decades before that. I think that by the end of this decade, something revolutionary is going to be made. Something that will permanently change the way we live our lives. And hopefully it will be something for the better good.

It was a peaceful, cool night for a nice walk in the middle of New York City. All the lights were on, flashing in their colorful patterns. Everything was going great for me, until a swarm of evil chickens and monkeys came at me from the darkness. They swept me into a dark alley so that I was cornered. Luckily I had my brand new pair of nunchucks with me, and this looked like the perfect time to use them. Unfortunately I’ve never used nunchucks before, so I accidentally smashed myself in the forehead and threw myself off my feet onto my back while trying to look cool, thus almost knocking me out unconscious. When I got up I miraculously found an emergency ladder to my side to escape. So I climbed it all the way up to the top, knowing that the evil chickens can’t get me anymore. While I was wondering why those animals attacked me, I forgot about the evil monkeys, and they managed to climb to the top. I thought I was a goner, until Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles showed up to help me out. Then there was a very long intense battle.  After the evil monkeys retreated, we went back to see if the evil chickens were still there. When we got back, we saw that all the evil chickens combined to form taller, more skilled evil chickens, almost like the exact one from Family Guy, except there was 7 of them. So that means everyone got to take on their own chicken, including me. A second battle has begun. Everyone was having no trouble taking down their chicken, except for me. I unfortunately got knocked out. But just before I lost consciousness, I barely saw Spiderman throw a punch at the chicken I was beat up from. When I woke up, I was at my apartment, with Jackie, Bruce, the TMNTs and Spiderman at my side. They managed to take care of the evil chickens. I thanked all of them for saving my life. I then asked them if they wanted to stay over my place to eat Chinese food and watch the Rush Hour movies and other movies tonight. They all agreed, and Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee signed my shoes!!

Quote Homework

October 27, 2009

I thought this quote was one of the most important quotes I have ever read.  I’m assuming that the “popular” part of this quote signifies the more popular choice people make. Usually the “popular” choice would be the choice most people would want to choose because it’s the easiest choice and they think it’s going to get them out of that situation. It doesn’t, and it can usually lead to something worse. Plus, you might even feel guilty about your choice.  On the other hand, although the right thing to do isn’t the most popular thing to do, it’s still the right thing, and the right thing will always be the best thing to do.

  1. Any random thought- sometimes when I’m bored, a random thought that I haven’t thought of in a while, most of the time an old 90s TV show, will make me laugh because I haven’t seen that show in years.
  2. Funny Youtube videos- every time I go to a “family gathering” I would be with my cousins and one of them would always have at least 10 new Youtube videos he found to show everyone and they always make us laugh.
  3. Cousins- every time we see each other, my older cousins always seem to have so many interesting and funny stories to share with everyone. They have the natural ability to turn any boring story into something interesting.
  4. Family Guy- because it’s a good TV show.
  5. Happy Tree Friends- although it may sound like a children’s TV show to those who have never heard of the Happy Tree Friends, it’s actually for kids my age due to its “violence”.
  6. My friend from my old school Joe- every time we meet he always has something funny to say about anything and everything.
  7. failblog.org- although I watch most of their videos through Youtube, it’s still funny and somewhat mean to see many people’s “fails” in my opinion.
  8. Robot Chicken- although their episodes are only about 15 minutes long and shows late at night, it’s still funny to see animated dolls doing funny things.
  9. Rush Hour trilogy- I watched those movies so many times and I still laugh. Chris Tucker is hilarious.
  10. Cartman from South Park saying “Respect my Authoritah”- almost every time I see that I laugh. authoritaaah

I thought it would be cool to try to post a Youtube link here.

1.  You should do these exercises standing up because you have more room to do them.

2. You should always begin at an upright posture.

3. Breathing helps you relax, feel comfortable, and live.

4. Personally, I only liked the “Windmill Stretch” because this stretch can get rid of the pain in your upper shoulders, which is where the pain occurs for me the most.

Last week, Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines hard, the hardest in about 40 years, and left nearly 250 Filipinos dead. As they are still recuperating,  meteorologists said that another, stronger Typhoon Parma is going to hit Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and is expected to bring extreme damage and rainfall to the Philippines. People are moving through Pasig, a part of Manila, using whatever they can to get and keep themselves afloat, such as “inflatable mattresses as makeshift boats”. Some Filipinos said that  the government ”did not act quickly enough” to help their people. As rescue efforts continue from the Filipino government, as well as several different countries, at the same time they are preparing themselves for Typhoon Parma, said to hit this coming Saturday.

SMHS!

September 25, 2009

I chose St. Mary High School because of its friendly environment. Not only is the tuition is at a reasonable level according to my dad, but because of it’s small, caring and friendly environment. I wanted to come here as freshman for a day when I was in 8th grade, but I never got the chance to do so. When I came here as a freshman, four of my friends from my elementary school went to the same school as I did, so at least i didn’t have to go through the first year alone. Nonetheless I made a lot of new friends. As of today I have no regrets in coming to St Mary High School, and I hope I won’t get any regrets, because I’m hoping to spent the rest of my high school years here, in this small, friendly environment.
